Title I School Improvement Strategies
University Avenue Elementary School is a Title I Schoolwide building that receives funding to support our students’ academic needs. We have selected these goals to help all students:
- Multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) for students in reading, math, and social-emotional learning.
- Collaboration and data analysis to strengthen the Tier 1 academic instruction in literacy and mathematics for all students
- Professional development for school staff to learn and implement Leader in Me and Catalyst strategies for creating and maintaining an engaging, safe, and respectful learning environment.
Progress on these school efforts will be reported to families during PTO/PAC meetings: February 10 and May 12, 2026

School Supports for Success
(In the Classroom)
We will:
- Ensure students receive daily support through targeted reading and math interventions.
- Ensure students set and monitor personal learning goals while engaging in meaningful leadership and academic opportunities.
- Focus instruction on priority standards and skills that are critical for student success.
- Engage our students in learning through inquiry, collaboration, technology, leadership, and experiential opportunities — all through our aerospace magnet lens.

Family Supports for Success
(At Home)
You can:
- Engage in literacy at home: read with your child, play word games, research a topic, look up and define new words, write a story
- Engage in math at home: play a game such as: Yahtzee, Suduko, card games, etc.
- Ask your child about their personal math and reading academic goals at UAE
- Ask your child: “What is the UAE school wide goal this year? Can you tell me how you are working on it at school, and how we can support it at home together?”
